A fresh graduate of Parson’s, New York native Sandy Liang launched her namesake label in 2014. Inspired by her grandmother’s nonchalant attitude towards dressing, Liang’s collection draws an eclectic mix of Lower East Side magpie along with the traditional downtown Chinatown market scene. Favoring the use of shearling, leather, and Asian-inspired jacquard, the collection is rooted in distinct outerwear which includes fluid dresses donning youthful cut-outs, cropped wide-leg trousers, and novelty-prints with latent artwork poking fun at the nitty-gritty of New York. It’s a collection that was designed for the downtown girl who strides from subway to street with aplomb and never takes herself too seriously.
